3 reasons why music is the ultimate escape
3 reasons why music is the ultimate escape
1. Music links us to the past
Music transports us through space and time. No matter where you are, if you hear a song on the radio you can instantly be transported to the time you first heard the song, or when the song was popular in your child.
For example, the minute I hear Journey's Open Arms a flood of middle school memories comes back to me. I am slow dancing in the school cafeteria, weeping over unrequited love in my bedroom or swaying back and forth at my first rock concert in the Meadowlands.
2. Music connects you to your emotions
If you are not sure how you feel, you can connect with that through music. We instinctively put on music that expresses how we feel reaching for perky songs when happy or dialing the radio in another direction when feeling melancholy.
3. Music comforts
Music has the power to lift us out of current emotions and put us on a good feeling frequency and positive vibration. Is it any wonder that I love to paint to music and paint the figures who make music come to life?

In this violin painting, I combined mixed media collage with images of Hillary Hahn playing with an orchestra. Look carefully to find the ghost like images of three other musicians. This art is more about the cacophony of music played in an orchestra than it is about the single notes of one musician. |

This art comes with a 14x18" black floater frame. The black frame shows off the art so you can see the sides of the canvas and adds to the drama. This way, the art comes to you framed and ready to hang on your wall. >>own this art for your home |
