New Deck, New Attitude ~ Weekly Tarot Drawing 9/9/2015

We recently added Witches Tarot by Ellen Dugan to our collection. The regular rules apply - pick the card that you are most drawn to and then keep reading for the reveal! We do this every week, so if this is your first time or your tenth time have a blast! Here we go ~
Card #1: Karma
This card replaces the traditional Judgement card. We see three figures hands clasped and reaching for the sky. Often seen as the most magical number in many traditions. Connected to the triple goddess, the realms of land, sea and sky, or the physical, mental and spiritual needs of mankind. In some magical systems, three is a symbol of action and interaction. Wiccans and Pagans have an affinity for three, and in relation to Karma there is a belief that what you put out into the universe comes back to you threefold. You know that everything happens for a reason right? Well the time has arrived for you to make an important decision and trust in a higher power.

Card #2: Two of Swords
This blindfolded woman sits by a lake at twilight. She is blindfolded and holds two swords upright. You know who this card reminds me of? Ever seen the movie Elektra with Jennifer Garner? To me this woman is just like her, poised to strike if needed, but at the same time shut down. When this card appears it means you have shut down and you are refusing to see what is right in front of you. Is your heart telling you one thing and your head telling you another? Weigh your options - it isn't a bad thing to have boundaries, but let people in once in a while.

Card #3: The High Priestess
This card is FULL of wiccan symbols. You have the light and dark pillar, the moon below her feet, even the familiar at her feet all aspects of the craft. She is calm and centered. The amber and jet necklace around her neck is a symbol of increase in mental power and psychic abilities. The pomegranates on either side of her are sacred symbols of the goddess Persephone. When this card appears it tells you to use your intuition and instincts. Never stop trying to expand your knowledge. Be strong, work your craft thoughtfully and from a centered place.

Card #4: Three of Wands
This young man stands on a high cliff, surveying all before him. His vantage point gives him the benefit of being able to see the big picture. He watches the ships below, perhaps waiting for his ship to come in. When this card comes up it speaks of optimism and active waiting. The future looks bright, so just be content for now to stand back and watch the events unfold. Stay hopeful - good things are on the horizon.
