A look at my living room with my 20 year old
sea foam green couch, always classic! |
I absolutely love this shade of green... and I always have. I bought my first living room couch in the nineties in the then popular shade of sea foam green and although I have replaced everything around the sofa, the original upholstered couch remains. You can see my actual living room in this photo. I used to have my walls painted "Colony Green" which is a fairly close facsimile to the Hemlock Green that is in vogue now. I repainted my walls a few years ago to a more neutral shade of ivory just to balance my ever rotating collection of art that graces the walls. You see, I usually hang my favorite paintings over the sofa until they sell and then replace them and I don't always paint to complement green. ( by the way, you may also like my blog post :

So in addition to Colony Green, another great color you may want to try is Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue. As interior designer Lisa Erdmann says, "This is a soft blue with a bit of green and gray in it, which makes it very serene. To me, it's a neutral with personality, more interesting than beige. So many colors work beautifully with it--raspberry, caramel, mocha, chocolate, green. Give it a classic Robert Adam look with crisp white moldings." I am thinking of repainting my bedroom with this color... what do you think?
