When the world becomes too much

We've all had those days (or weeks) that just make you want to crawl under a rock and hide from the world. Maybe the kids are bouncing off the walls, the car broke down for the tenth time, or you have so much work you are feeling buried.

Trust me, I know that feeling. Savannah has been bouncing off the walls this week. The excitement of her big brother coming home in a couple of weeks has her wound tigher then a ten day clock. The days here have been 110 plus, and the A/C in the car has decided to crap out again. And to top it all off, health issues are causing me to have to close businesses and cut back on my course load at school. Don't worry though, Tucumcari Tarot isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I figured we could all use a little guidance this week, so I pulled a couple of cards from my Game of Thrones majors only deck. Here they are:
Here in the first card we see Jon Snow and his direwolf Ghost.  Jon has always been on the outskirts looking in, never quite feeling like he belonged. He wants to follow his heart, which can lead him astray. This week, we feel like we are watching our lives unfold as if we are hovering above our own bodies, feeling out of sync and disconnected with everything.

In the Strength card we see Brianne of Tarth during the fight with a bear. As a woman, most men discount her as inferior, but that woman can kick some serious butt! We need to reach inside and find that strength to guide us through. We are warriors, and we cannot let the world beat us down.

Finally we have the Lovers. They are represented by Edmere and Rosilin who were married at the infamous Red Wedding. Her face is etched with worry, but he wraps her in his arms, comforting her. Don't be afraid to let your loved ones in and help/support you. Sometimes we are stubborn and want to think we can do it all, but in reality we function best when we work together to overcome our obstacles.

I know how hard it can be, trying to stay on top of everything AND stay sane. We are women, powerful and fierce - but sometimes it is good to do a little something for ourselves to ground ourselves. So take a bubble bath, have a glass of wine, or curl up with that book you have been meaning to read. Tomorrow is always another day....
