Wrapping Art with Gratitude

Sealed with CareEvery fine art print, cosmetic bag, calendar or artwork is wrapped up in colored tissue paper and embellished with colorful washi tape strips. As I wrap each one with love for you, I like to imagine the delight on your face. I also make sure I include free postcards with every package that has my bio on the back and my art on the front. This is especially important if you plan on giving the art as a gift to someone else who may be unfamiliar with my story.

Lots of blingFor each piece, I hand write a sincere note of gratitude and tuck it inside the wrappings. A seal with my peacock art is also added to each package. |

Santa's Workshop (except I am Santa AND the elves)Around this time of year, my studio resembles Santa's workshop as I scurry between creating custom portraits of pets and houses which make popular gifts and wrapping each package with care. The outside of each package is decorated with patterned washi tape and more stickers. I like the postman to know he is carrying something special and that there is valuable art in his hands. I know that the postal workers take notice as once I wrapped something up for my mom this way and the mail carrier told her she had a special package waiting. I like to imagine this is the reaction of all the postal workers who carry my art and that the art collector appreciates the beautiful wrappings.

Hey, I'm Miriam Schulman and I create mixed media art to tell stories. I also teach other people how to craft their stories with art. I give them the techniques they need to get the results they desire which brings more joy to their lives.
My art has been published by Somerset Studio, Art of Man and the New York Times among others and collected by an international audience.
